Terms of Service
These terms are a contract between you and Montana Plate Co. LLC. Please read them before using the site or ordering our service.

1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the montanaplateco.com website (the “Site”) and the services offered by Montana Plate Co. LLC (“Montana Plate Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site, submitting a registration request, or engaging our service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or our service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use our service.
2. What we do — and do not — do
We form a Montana limited liability company in your name, act as your Montana registered agent, and title and register your vehicle to that LLC with the State of Montana and the applicable county. The specific deliverables depend on the service tier you select and are described at checkout and on your invoice.
We are not attorneys and do not practice law. We are not accountants or tax advisors. We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice, and we do not represent you before any court, tax authority, or regulatory body. We do not advise you on whether registering a particular vehicle through a Montana LLC is appropriate for your circumstances, nor do we opine on your home-state tax obligations.
3. Your responsibilities and home-state obligations
You are responsible for determining whether a Montana LLC vehicle registration is lawful and appropriate for you, including any use tax, sales tax, personal property tax, insurance, inspection, and registration requirements imposed by your home state or any state where the vehicle is kept, garaged, or used. Some states assess use tax or require in-state registration when a resident’s vehicle is primarily used there, regardless of how it is titled.
You agree that you are engaging in lawful tax planning and not in the evasion of any tax you actually owe. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and for any tax, penalty, or interest a taxing authority may assess. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information and documents (including vehicle title, purchase documents, and identification) and to keep your LLC in good standing.
4. Fees, pass-through costs, and payment
Our service fees are the flat amounts shown on the Site and confirmed on your invoice. In addition to our fee, Montana state filing fees and county titling and registration fees are passed through to you at cost and itemized on your invoice. These government fees are set by the State of Montana and its counties, are outside our control, and may change.
Payment is due as stated on your invoice. Unless a written refund arrangement says otherwise, fees for work already performed — including LLC formation once filed with the Montana Secretary of State — are non-refundable, because government filings cannot be undone. If we are unable to complete your registration for reasons within our control, we will refund the portion of our service fee for work not performed. Government fees already paid to the state or a county are not refundable by us.
5. Registered agent service and renewals
Your first tier includes registered agent service for the first twelve months. To keep your LLC in good standing after that, you must maintain a registered agent and file the Montana annual report (due April 15 each year). Our Registered Agent Renewal keeps these current for an annual fee. If you do not renew or appoint another registered agent, your LLC may fall out of good standing or be dissolved by the state, which can affect the vehicle’s registration. We are not liable for consequences arising from a lapse you did not renew.
6. Timelines are estimates
Turnaround times stated on the Site (for example, “3–7 business days” or “filed in one business day”) are good-faith estimates that assume complete and accurate paperwork. Actual timing depends on State of Montana and county processing, courier delivery, lienholder cooperation, and factors outside our control. We do not guarantee any specific completion date.
7. Financed, leased, and third-party matters
For financed or leased vehicles, titling to a Montana LLC requires the cooperation of your lender or lessor, who must agree to the arrangement and be listed as lienholder. Some lenders and lessors decline. We do not control their decisions and are not responsible if a lender or lessor refuses, imposes conditions, or declares a default. You are responsible for confirming that registering the vehicle through an LLC does not violate your financing, lease, or insurance agreements.
8. Intellectual property and acceptable use
The Site and its content, design, and marks are owned by Montana Plate Co. or its licensors and are protected by law. You may use the Site for your own informational and transactional purposes. You may not scrape, copy, resell, or misuse the Site, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and our service are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any particular tax outcome or savings will result, or that any taxing authority will treat your arrangement in a particular way. Any savings estimates or calculator results are illustrative only and are not a promise of savings.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Montana Plate Co. and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost savings, or tax, penalties, or interest assessed by any authority, arising out of or relating to the Site or our service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount of the service fee you paid to us for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Montana Plate Co. and its owners, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the service, your provision of inaccurate information, your use of the vehicle, or your failure to meet a tax, registration, insurance, or financing obligation that applies to you.
12. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration administered under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider, seated in Gallatin County, Montana, on an individual basis. You and Montana Plate Co. waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class or representative action. If arbitration is held unenforceable, the state and federal courts located in Gallatin County, Montana will have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to venue there. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small-claims court.
13. Changes, termination, and severability
We may update these Terms from time to time; the effective date at the top shows the latest version, and your continued use after a change means you accept it. We may decline or discontinue service to anyone. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
